Dennis J. Gebben joins Grubb & Ellis|Paramount Commerce as a Land Specialist, following a distinguished, 30-year career in environmental consulting and public service. A geologist by trade, Mr. Gebben began his career with Williams & Works of Grand Rapids. Mr. Gebben was quickly elevated to the front lines of the nation’s – and states’ – most vexing environmental projects, acquiring a broad spectrum of capabilities specifically tailored to help industrial clients responsibly manage their environmental affairs at a time when new environmental laws and regulations were being promulgated.
During the eighties, EDI Engineering & Science (a Williams & Works subsidiary), under Gebben’s guidance, became the largest environmental science firm in Michigan. In 1990, EDI and Williams & Works became separate divisions of WW Engineering & Science. EDI became the Environmental Services Division of WWES with a staff of 130 employees headed by Gebben as Senior Vice President.
In 1993, Mr. Gebben returned to his consulting roots doing business development and overseeing projects for major industrial clients. As WWES was acquired by Earth Tech, Inc., and eventually Tyco International, Mr. Gebben was tapped to develop and direct a highly successful, nationwide services program to railroads, including CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern and Canadian National.
Mr. Gebben’s commitment to public service is equally impressive, with two, four-year terms as a Councilman for the City of Zeeland, Mich., and a five-year post as Commissioner of the Zeeland Board of Public Works. A Zeeland resident, Mr. Gebben is currently a member of the Holland Charter Township Planning Commission, a position he has served since 2001. |
