Mr. Suwyn has been a Commercial/Industrial Realtor for over 15 years, with an emphasis on Industrial brokerage. In that time frame, he has quickly become one of the foremost industrial specialists in West Michigan. Mr. Suwyn joined Grubb & Ellis|Paramount Commerce as Vice President and Director of the Industrial Group and was later named as President. Most recently, Mr. Suwyn was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the firm.
Mr. Suwyn’s clients include Steelcase Inc, First Industrial Realty Trust, and Franklin Partners. He is well known for formulating creative solutions to complex transactions, an example being the successful redevelopment of the former Bosch Manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The building was a 1,000,000 SF stand-alone building which was redeveloped into two facilities of approximately 400,000 SF each. The building became home to the global headquarters of X-Rite, Inc. as well as other tenants.
Mr. Suwyn has handled the leasing responsibilities for the nearly 3,000,000 SF First Industrial portfolio and the sale of the 21 buildings totaling over 2,000,000 SF from this portfolio. He is currently marketing a large portion of the 5.5 million SF Kojaian Portfolio located in West Michigan.
Duke is, and has been, a speaker to organizations as a spokesperson for the real estate concerns of the industrial community.
